Thailand Haemophilia Leadership Forum

In cooperation with Novo Nordisk the Danish embassy in Bangkok hosted the event “Thailand Haemophilia Leadership Forum” on 15th March 2016 at the ambassador’s residence.

The objectives of the event was to raise awareness of the haemophilia and its impact on Thailand, to create a common platform and understanding of the challenge at hand and lastly to provide an opportunity to informally discuss potential solutions to improve outcomes for people with haemophilia in Thailand. 

The keynote speakers provided their perspective on the burden of haemophilia from physician and patient viewpoint and gave an insight in current national haemophilia policy for Thailand. To support the creation of a common platform and understanding of the challenges of haemophilia, a briefing book “Haemophilia and Its Impact on Thailand” was launched and distributed to all participants at the event.

Security Office, Professor Pantep Angchaisuksiri, division of haematology
from University of Mahidol, Assist. Professor Patcharee Komvilaisak, Division
of Haematology from University of Khon Kaen, Mr. Ekawat Suwantaroj and Alexandre Alencar, Senior
Project Manager, Novo Nordisk Haemophilia Foundation (NNHF)


The participants in this forum were stakeholders from all groups that have an impact on the management of haemophilia in Thailand e.g. Ministry of Public Health H.E. Clin. Prof. Emeritus Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, Insurance Schemes, National Haemophilia Foundation of Thailand, International Haemophilia Training Center – Bangkok Branch of World Fed-eration of Haemophilia, hospital doctors, head of professional and patient associations, key opinion leaders in the field of haemophilia, and the Novo Nordisk Haemophilia Foundation.
